A simple example of inline editing on the list page.

Multiple records can be edited and saved at once.
Dependent dropdown boxes are supported. We currently work on adding files upload and date/time controls.

Next step will be to include Add/Multiadd function on the list page.

Here is the preview. Feel free to play with it.

It looks awesome !!! That would be very useful for master-detail update in order to eliminate a lot of page navigation. Would it support the multiple record add on the list page? I believe this feature will be available in ASPRunner too!

Thanks.

i like the inline edit feature. question though...can you lock out specific field(s) so the user can not edit, as in your example, the employee id field or more importantly, a primary key field?

Excellent feature!!

This would be extremely useful and a great time saver for the type of apps I typically develop.... when can I get it?

Looks good. What would a picture field look like and a large text field using the text editor

Love the new Print Selected Export selected

Edit selected would be great if I checked 3 or 4 and clicked the edit selected that the actual list shorten to only the choices selected and then open up the inline editing for the short list.

And maybe another one. Display selected. Again the shortlist idea of working with the ones you selected.

Your product keeps getting more awesome by the minute !

As an extension of the inline editing feature.... how difficult would it be to put an "action button" in a line? The same way you now have "Edit" and "view" in each line, the idea would be to be able to put a column with a custom button, that would perform an "event" on its own line.

Thanks for continuing improving your program!

thank you for the invitation to test it

3 things:

1. the "select date" does not work
2. number of years is too long
3. could we have inline editing feature activataed via DOUBLE CLICK?

so far these are on the fly observations.

The inline edit works really well when you want to make multiple changes to one record (row) quickly on the fly.

However, we have run into many an occasion when we need to edit lots of the same field across multiple records, and the ability to be able to have inline editing within a single column across multiple records would actually be much more useful to us...

This looks very nice. I have a couple of questions:

1) Is there any way to (optionally) change a date field so it can just be edited as text? For example, edit '19.08.2006' to '18.08.2006' in text form. This obviates the need for pull-downs, etc., and keeps the editable lines compact. Of course a conversion routine is required to validate the edited date and convert it into the proper format for the database field.

2) Since, in your template, multiple lines can be opened for editing simultaneously, would it be possible to (optionally) make the page display initially with all lines "opened" in that way -- so that editing any line could be done without a mode change? That is the default in many database environments such as FileMaker. I have found in the past that this format is quite convenient, and that most clients understand it right away. To them it is like using a word processor -- just place your cursor anywhere into the text and begin typing.

Thank you for your consideration. PHPRunner is a wonderful product.

Best regards.

The inline editing feature is a FANTASTIC upgrade... extremely useful... so now that you have gotten us excited... when will we be able to download this update?

Excellent Product that keeps getting better and better... Can't wait to see what you come up with next... :D
